Identification requirements are determined by your residency status and the amount of the money transfer
For UK residents, a passport or driving license with photo is valid. EU residents can present a passport or European ID card. Other non EU residents must present a passport.
For amounts from 600 GBP to 1999.99 GBP (send transactions): one form of primary photo identification verifying the full name.
For amounts from 0 GBP to 1999.99 GBP (receive transactions): one form of primary photo identification verifying the full name.
Where no primary ID is presented: two forms of non-primary identification verifying the current/permanent address (utility bill or statement issued by a regulated company, confirmation letter from a hotel.)
For amounts from 2,000 GBP to 5,000 GBP (send and receive transactions): one form of photo identification verifying the full name and one form of identification verifying the current/permanent address. The same document must not be used to verify both name and address.
When you send money internationally, your receiver will generally be paid in local currency. The exact amount will be calculated based on the exchange rate applicable at the time of shipment. However, for transfers to certain countries, the exact amount will be calculated based on the exchange rate applicable at the time of receipt.
You can send from 1 GBP to 599 GBP without any identification but you require one photo ID to send from 600 GBP to 1,999 GBP and one photo ID as well as one utility bill to send 2,000 GBP and above. If you are going to send above 800 GBP within one year, then Toprate would have to confirm your both IDs to approve a higher sending limit for you.
If your receiver lives in a country where we offer this service, you can send money to their mobile phone. Make sure your receiver has activated a mobile wallet with one of our partner mobile phone operators in their country.
This service is available for certain countries. Usually, money is deposited into the receiver's bank account within 1 or 2 working days. Money may be deposited on the same day or in up to 3 working days, depending on when and where it's sent..
